WASHINGTON, Sept. 11 /Christian Newswire/ -- Rev. Rob Schenck, founder
of the Capitol Hill Christian ministry Faith and Action, is commemorating the
fifth anniversary of 9/11 with an article that asserts the attacks violated Gods
moral law. On his blog the Evangelical missionary writes, In less than one
hour, the world-wide terrorist machine managed to violate virtually every one
of the Ten Commandments.
Schenck discusses how the actions of the 19 hijackers and the ideology that
drove them to fly planes into the World Trade Center, Pentagon and a field in
Pennsylvania is contrary to the principles espoused in laws God handed down to
Moses on Mt. Sinai. One by one, he shows how the disciples of Osama bin Laden
violated those laws.
Schenck also notes the nexus of politics and religion that occurred on that
September morning five years ago writing, It took 9-11 to reintroduce the
word "evil" into the American lexicon. Schenck points out that
although polls have consistently shown that an overwhelming majority of Americans
believe in God and heaven a large portion of them dismiss the idea of Hell and
the Devil.
The Ten Commandments are the cornerstone of Faith and Actions Christian
ministry in more ways than one. Schenck is involved in defending public displays
of The Ten Commandments across the country and recently won a significant battle
against the Washington, DC city government. Local officials demanded that a marble
display of The Ten Commandments that Schenck installed in the front garden of
the Faith and Action headquarters be removed under threat of fine or property
forfeiture. Schencks refusal to submit to what he believed to be an unlawful
infringement of religious freedom resulted in the removal order being rescinded.
