Rev.
Rob Schenck, president of Faith and Action and its affiliate, the National Clergy
Council, addresses a news conference sponsored by the Conservative Caucus in support
of "Ten Commandments Judge" Roy Moore's nomination to the United States
Supreme Court. "Judge Moore is precisely the kind of jurist that President
Bush says he wants on the High Court," Rev. Schenck said. "He reveres
the Constitution. He will never surrender his principles in favor of politics,
prestige or personal gain." During questioning by reporters, Rev. Schenck
pointed out that religious conservatives elected George Bush in overwhelming numbers
because of his commitment to the sanctity of human life, the sanctity of marriage
and the family and the public acknowledgement of God. "We have reminded
the President that his loyalties to these principles must take precedence over
his personal loyalties," Rev. Schenck told reporters. Rev. Rob Schenck,
